I'm Karen Haske, mom to Samuel. (And a few other children) Samuel came to our family 2 years ago through adoption. He was almost 3 years old then. Forgive me for not being familiar with the Brachial Plexus terminology, but Samuel has BP injury to his left arm & hand. He has been evaluated at a BP clinic in Ann Arbor, MI. He has had some physical therapy and is now able to bend his elbow to about 80 degress. He can shrug his should also. Other than that, he has no use of wrist, hand, or fingers. The doctor he resently saw wants us to consider the surgery that transfers a muscle/nerve from his leg. But the doctor was unsure how helpful this would be. He would like us to make a decision soon though. Any advise?
